The Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) has published a bulletin that provides updates on new rule requirements that will take effect on January 1st, 2022. Click here to read the full bulletin.

Adilas’ inventory tracking and reporting capabilities that we already have in place will provide our clients with the tools they need to follow these new regulations and we will continue to make improvements to our software to ensure that we stay adaptable and malleable to the changes that are forthcoming.

The majority of the rules pertain to Medical Marijuana Stores, however, we encourage everyone in the cannabis industry to read the full bulletin as there are new rules for Recreational Stores as well. Here is a quick overview of the changes for Medical:

-Immediately record each new sale to a patient in Metrc (Adilas is a step ahead of the game here, as we already participate in real-time reporting to Metrc).

-Have the ability to determine the amount of medical marijuana a patient has purchased in a given day in real-time by searching a patient registration number. (Adilas already has this API call built because of other States’ requirements, however, we must wait for Metrc to release the actual API path and endpoints for Colorado.)

-Respond with an error message if a sale to a patient or caregiver will exceed the patient’s daily authorized quantity limit or THC limit for that day. (Adilas provides item attributes and sub-attributes for Licensees to be able to associate the THC content or THC percentage with specific items. Our developers will start working on revising our current gram controller in the shopping cart to flag for THC content.)

If you are currently reporting your sales through an end-of-the-day CSV upload, please contact us to learn how to switch your METRC invoice reporting to Transactional Reporting.

We will continue to keep our clients updated as more information is expected to be released by both MED and Metrc in the coming weeks.
