If you are interested in the Mini Scan Cart, please read the News and Updates Parts 1 and 2 to learn how to set up most of the features. If you have any questions or need help with setup, please give us a call at 720-740-3046.

In the Mini Scan Cart you can add descriptions to items directly in the cart. When many users set up their items, they simply copy the name of the item into the description. Ex: Item=12oz Latte; Description=12oz Latte. With this new feature, you can edit the description ‘on the fly’ once you have added the item to the cart.

Turn the setting to ‘yes’ under Optional – Use invoice line modifiers. Click submit.

Add an item to the cart, and then click on the description.

This will open a pop-up where you can add any helpful information to modify the item. If you click on the button for ‘no’ it will auto-populate the word and then you can add whatever information after. Same with ‘extra.’ Click submit.

Here you can see the modifiers in line with the item.

This new description is stored on the invoice so you can search for this information later should you want to know how customers are customizing their orders.

Another new setting available is to show the quantity on my cart favorite buttons. Check the box and click submit to use this setting.

Now you can see in the my cart favorite buttons that there are quantities next to the items. **In this example, the coffee shop is selling parent items which is why the coffee is showing a negative number. The extra shot and the whipped cream are both unlimited, therefore no inventory quantity. The dark chocolate with Sea Salt Caramel shows the actual inventory quantity since it is sub inventory.

This next setting allows for replacing the check box with a garbage icon for removing items from the cart. The great thing about the garbage icon is that it automatically removes the item, instead of having to check the box and hit update cart. You can only do one line at a time, and it works great for touchscreen applications.

To set this feature in the mini scan cart, go to the cart navigation and search options section (section one). Choose ‘Use garbage can icon to remove.’

You can also remove the ability to edit line items. Choose ‘hide edit line icons’ in the setting just below.

Now when you return to the cart, you will see the garbage can icon and no other options for the line item.

The last setting explained here is the complex barcodes or deli style barcodes. These were created specifically to read the barcodes that are created by a deli scale for a meat counter. In this scenario, the complex barcode is created each time an item such as meat or cheese is weighed at a deli counter. It is unique and does not already exist in adilas like our regular item barcodes.

The items that are sold in this manner do require some special setup. They must have a unit of measurement that is weight based, ie pounds. They will need a special barcode added to the parent item. This is a barcode that is generated by the deli scale, and will be part of the complex barcode that is created when the item is weighed.

Below are the settings and explanations on how to use them. If you find you need more help or have questions, please reach out to us at 720-740-3046.

The above settings are defaults and can be edited based on the functions on the user’s deli scale. Once these settings are activated, when you weigh the deli item, it prints up the label and you scan that label into the shopping cart. Adilas figures out the weight of the item based on the price of the item and the total price that is embedded in the barcode label that the deli scale just generated. There is no need to enter anything into adilas at that time. *Please note this function is only available in the mini scan cart at this time.
